Hi, I’m Jennifer…

With over 30 years of experience in education and holistic practices. I provide tools, teach life, skills, and guide individuals of all ages in practices that empower them to take an active role and developing and maintaining physical acuity, confidence, grace & poise, focused attention, and healthy relationships, My intention is to embody the essence of yoga—steadiness, ease, awareness, and respect—while guiding students, teachers, coaches, creatives, and health professionals in cultivating awareness, connection, and vitality to share with their families, friends, clients, and colleagues.

Since joining my first Iyengar Yoga class in January 1994 and have been a devoted student of yoga practice and personal development. My foundation is in Raja or Kriyā Yoga, primarily through the the lineage of T. Krishnamacharya (B.K.S. Iyengar, TKV Desikachar, P. Jois) and Paramhansa Yogananda via Sri Yukteshwar, etc. Over the years, I’ve deepened my studies in psychosomatic-based therapy, strength and stability training, modern psychology, and motivation mindset.

Since 2003, I’ve taught classical Yoga to adults and children in group classes, one-on-one yoga therapy, and workshops. I aim to teach in a grounded, compassionate, playful way designed to support integration and personal empowerment—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My personal life - in addition to observing and listening to students, clients, friends and the world in general - leads me to understand what works and when, and what does not.

In addition to yoga, I draw from a variety of complementary methods to inform my work with students and clients:

  • Ayurveda - for understanding the rhythms of nature, individual constitution, healthy eating habits for proper digestion, and how to avoid disease.

  • Montessori Method – for its emphasis on helping us to help ourselves, treat ourselves and environment with respect, and honoring pace and process and unique to individuals and groups.

  • Prasara, Ashtanga & Viniyoga – for their unique approaches to movement, breath, and flow.

  • Purna Yoga — a grounded extension of the Iyengar method emphasizing alignment, attention to detail & nutritional health.

  • The Work by Byron Katie – for its simple “Is it true?” method, a profound inquiry into thoughts and beliefs that can positively change our experience.

  • The Enneagram – as a map for understanding personality, human development, and relationships.

  • Jordan Peterson’s Know Yourself – for its psychological insight & personal responsibility tools which can positively influence choices in work & life.

  • 12-Step Recovery Principles – for their spiritual tools, compassion, community, and emphasis on redirecting and reframing our thoughts and actions.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – for its skills in emotional regulation, radical acceptance, sensory awareness, and communication skills.

My approach to physical education & development includes the use of props (including the Yoga Wall when available), resistance training, breath work and pranayama, tapping, acupressure & trigger point massage, hands on adjustments, and partner work. I also incorporate tools from Vedic mantra meditation, writing, literature study, and visual art to support creativity, focus, and self-expression.

Training and experience in Montessori education has profoundly influenced my teaching style. I break down postures step-by-step when necessary which makes the practice accessible for many, and include demonstration, hands-on adjustments, and conversation to build understanding and rapport.

I support the the cultivation of spaces - physical and emotional - that exemplify safety, order, cleanliness, curiosity, and beauty that allow freedom to explore and learn while emphasizing personal responsibility in action.

Analytical in mind, but playful spirit, I practice acceptance, inclusion, & discernment as guiding principles in a natural flow of living. I am proud and honored to be a part of a movement that supports education for adults and children all across the world to learn healthy habits and skills through the limitless and ever-applicable principles of Yoga, Ayurveda, a positive mindset, and good habits.

I invite you to join me in creating a space filled with intentional, intelligent humans who take care of themselves, experience loving relationships, respect the earth, and understand that the road to unwavering faith and success is paved with one brick at a time.
