Hi, I’m Jennifer…

… your Holistic Wellness Guide and Teaching Mentor. I am a Yoga therapist, educator, and artist dedicated to helping you move through life with greater ease, strength, and confidence. With over 30 years of experience in holistic practices, I’ve guided individuals from all walks of life to develop more awareness that empowers them to feel more connected, capable, and confident.

I took my first Iyengar Yoga class in January of 1994 and have been a devoted student since that time. My training and study is in Raja/Kriya yoga. I have had training and experience with therapeutic yoga and exercise, strength training, somatic sensory experiencing, and psychotherapy with many excellent professional yoga instructors and therapists. Since 2003, I have taught classical Yoga to both adults and children - in group settings, workshops and one-on-one. I incorporate tools from complementary practices including Prasara Yoga, Purna Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, “The Work” of Byron Katie, the Enneagram, Know Yourself by Jordan Peterson, Recovery work, Marsha Linehan’s Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills which include emotional regulation, mindfulness exercises, communication and other life skills, and Montessori education.

Physical education that I teach incorporates props, resistance training, use of the Yoga wall and other structures, proper breathing, tapping, pranayama, Thai Yoga and partner work.

I also enjoy the benefits of Vedic Mantra Meditation, Writing, and Literature study and pass along this information as additional aids to meet your individual needs and interests.

My passion is to create and provide diverse yet cohesive educational programs and resources that reflect a way of living that exemplifies the essence of the yoga sutra “Sthira Sukha Asanam” — Steady and at Ease — for students and teachers of Yoga, coaches, and creative craftspeople to use to bolster their personal lives and share with their families, students and clients.

My teaching focus is to lead you to use your senses to develop sensing power in order to respond to your physio-psycho-emotional experience in the present. Some call this using your intuition. Then you can learn to respond in a way that honors your needs right away so you can stay safe, be strong and healthy, and live harmoniously.

My background in Montessori education has profoundly influenced my teaching style. I break down postures step-by-step and teach through demonstration, conversation, and hands-on adjustments. I also create an environment that emphasizes cleanliness and beauty, and provides opportunities for connection. I provide a proper foundation for Yoga study which allows for freedom to explore balanced with personal responsibility.

I am analytical and pensive but playful in spirit. When working together, I bring calm focus, alignment in action, deep listening, and depth of sharing knowledge and experience. I practice acceptance as a way of life & inclusion as a natural way of living. Keeping it simple is a challenge and a practice!

I dream of the day when adults and children at home and in schools across the world learn healthy habits and skills through the limitless and ever-applicable principles of Yoga & an Ayurvedic lifestyle. As this happens our world will be filled with more intentional and intelligent action, healthier bodies and relationships, and more respect for the earth and the power of our connection to Universal energies.
