Hi, I’m Jennifer…

With over 30 years of experience in education and holistic practices, I’ve guided individuals of all ages with instruction in connection skills that empower them with tools to experience calm confidence, physical awareness, development, and stress release, and concentration.

I took my first Iyengar Yoga class in January 1994 and have been a devoted student ever since. My foundation is in Raja/Kriyā Yoga, primarily through the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar and Paramhansa Yogananda. Over the years, I’ve deepened my studies in therapeutic yoga, strength and stability training, motivation mindset, and psychotherapy-based practices.

Since 2003, I’ve taught classical Yoga to adults and children in group classes, one-on-one yoga therapy, and workshops teaching in a grounded, compassionate, playful way designed to support integration and personal empowerment—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My personal life in addition to observing students, clients, friends and the world around is ground for understanding what works and when, and what does not.

In addition to yoga, I draw from a variety of complementary methods that inform my work:

  • Ayurveda - for understanding the rhythms of nature, individual constitution, healthy eating habits for proper digestion, and how to avoid disease.

  • Montessori Method – for its emphasis on helping us to help ourselves, treat ourselves and environment with respect, and honoring pace and process and unique to individuals and groups.

  • Prasara, Ashtanga & Viniyoga – for their unique approaches to movement, breath, and flow.

  • Purna Yoga — a grounded extension of the Iyengar method emphasizing alignment, attention to detail & nutritional health.

  • The Work by Byron Katie – for its simple “Is it true?” method, a profound inquiry into thoughts and beliefs that can positively change our experience.

  • The Enneagram – as a map for understanding personality, human development, and relationships.

  • Jordan Peterson’s Know Yourself – for its psychological insight & personal responsibility tools which can positively influence choices in work & life.

  • 12-Step Recovery Principles – for their spiritual tools, compassion, community, and emphasis on redirecting and reframing our thoughts and actions.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – for its skills in emotional regulation, radical acceptance, sensory awareness, and communication skills.

My physical education approach includes the use of props (including the Yoga Wall when available), resistance training, breath work and pranayama, tapping, acupressure, hands on adjustments, and partner work. I also incorporate tools from Vedic mantra meditation, writing, literature study, and visual art to support creativity, focus, and self-expression.

My intention is to create educational experiences that embody the essence of yoga: steadiness, ease, awareness, and respect, while instructing and guiding students, teachers, coaches, creatives, and health professionals in building awareness, connection, and vitality to use themselves and share with families, friends, clients, and colleagues.

A background in Montessori education has profoundly influenced my teaching style. I break down postures step-by-step when necessary which makes the practice accessible for many. I also use demonstration, hands-on adjustments, and conversation to build understanding and rapport.

Imperfectly, yet evolving, I like to create an environment that understands the positive impact paying attention to cleanliness, creativity, and beauty, and provides opportunities for connection. A proper foundation in Yoga study allows for freedom to explore and experiential learning balanced with an emphasis on personal responsibility.

I am analytical in mind, but playful spirit, practicing acceptance, inclusion, & discernment as guiding principles in a natural flow of living. I am proud and honored to be a part of a movement that supports education for adults and children all across the world to learn healthy habits and skills through the limitless and ever-applicable principles of Yoga, Ayurveda, a positive mindset, and good habits.

Let's create a world filled with intentional, intelligent humans who take care of themselves, experience loving relationships, respect the earth, and understand that the road to unwavering faith and success is paved with one brick at a time.
